It all started in the Greek kitchen of Taki and Amanda Manolelis who moved from Greece to Zimbabwe and later Johannesburg in 1990. With a passion for food and growing their own fruit and vegetables Taki and Amanda struggled to get their garden thriving due to all the hail in the region. A friend suggested growing plants under the ground as these would not be affected by the hail. So, the couple tried growing garlic and with great success the crops flourished. They began selling to local restaurants who demanded the garlic to be chopped. Only being able to speak limited English the restaurant owners started calling Amanda Manolelis “Mrs Garlic” and so the company that sold “chopped” garlic was born…
Today the company has outgrown the kitchen of Mrs Garlic into a large factory involved in Food Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales. Along with our quality products we offer outstanding service that is reminiscent of the love and dedication found in the kitchen of Mrs Garlic.
